This site may have been extremely quiet recently but this is just the first of a number of updates about what we've been up to in the last few months. Firstly though here is our show from Friday in which we talk about Fresh Air Festival and all the gigs coming up this weekend.

Randolph's Leap Session
Just before their gig at Electric Circus as part of Toad at the Fringe Randolph's Leap kindly played an acoustic set for us. Head to their bandcamp and get their latest singles Counting Sheep and Deep Blue Sea along with their phenomenal EP Battleships & Kettle Chips.
Download the session they did for us here.

Super belated band post - Airship
A couple of months ago I went to see Airship, The Chapman Family and The Joy Formidable at Electric Circus and although I didn't think much of the two headliners I was very extremely impressed by Airship. This has lead to their latest EP Algebra being played on heavy rotation. The title track sticks out to me as just an amazing song, the synths and lyrics overlap a thundering rhythm section and it subtly reminds me of a band I once loved but have now all but forgotten - Silversun Pickups. The rest of the album is coloured with the influences of American grunge rock bands like The Pixies, it's always a nice surprise when something other than the expected howl of Black Francis comes in during Spirit Party.
I believe the band are currently working on a debut album and a few weeks ago the tracks 'Kids' surfaced online; it's most certainly a promising effort with all the melodies and driving rhythms that made their sophomore EP stick in my head. Have a listen!

Back on fresh air!
Tomorrow, we will be back on air for this semester! Our slot is Thursdays from 7 til 8, but due to tomorrow night's pre-homegame gig/open mic at Sofi's we're probably gonna roll up to the studio at 6 for an hour and talk about music and play some of the best stuff I've heard in the past month or so (I hope I can find a skinny before then!). In a bid to keep the station going out live I will try record a podcast tomorrow morning for the 7 til 8 slot but if not you'll probably get a repeat of one of our shows from the first semester.
I'll have some excellent new music for you tomorrow night but for now here's a song from a band who completely blew both of us away tonight at Sneaky Pete's, Maybeshewill with Co-conspirators.

Enfant Bastard session
So yeah, apparently 4th year is a busy time at uni, who'd have thought? But I'll definitely be making time on Sunday night for "Ginger Music Present: Dead Boy Robotics, Vasquez, Enfant Bastard and Esperi" at The Store; one of the best line ups I've seen in a while.
Last month both Enfant Bastard and Esperi came into the studio and recorded sessions for us which we were planning to play on Fresh Air on Saturday but we just found out that the studio stops broadcasting tomorrow! (sorry Cammy and Chris!)
I'll be posting Esperi's session on Saturday but for your listening pleasure on such a nice day here is Enfant Bastard's Micro Mix.

A small update on our radio silence
So it turns out the end of February/start of March is a very busy time for us. Due to playing with Last Battle at Kid Canaveral's SXSW fundraiser on the 26th and Trapped Mice's EP launch on the 5th we've missed the last two radio shows. The next two weeks are also up in the air due to The Last Battle touring plans but hopefully there will be a show, so keep an ear out on freshair.org.uk between 6 and 7 Saturdays!
